What is Compact Laminate.
Sheets of Kraft paper are injected with a thermosetting resin, and the surface or decorative layer are injected with a melamine-based resin. Both sheets are then bound together with heat and pressure to create a homogeneous material.

The quantity of Kraft paper sheets used determines the the board thickness.

Compact Laminate is also known and Phenolic or Solid Grade Laminate (SGL).
